Steven Leon has over 20 years experience in Child Law proceedings and is a Senior Associate representing children, professional Guardians, parents and other parties whilst undertaking the majority of his own advocacy before the Family Court.

Before moving to Steven Leon Solicitors Steven was a Partner in a well regarded firm in Cambridge often receiving referrals from other firms and professionals on a regional basis in complex cases involving issues of child protection. An accredited member of the Law Society Children Law panel, Steven was the only child law solicitor in Cambridge with a ranking in the leading Legal 500 guide noting a key strength in relation to his non accidental injury expertise in care proceedings.

Lily Erick

Lily is a paralegal working in the claimant serious injury team providing support to Helen Murphy and Sarah Merrikin with their on-going cases and any new enquiries.

Lily attends client conferences, meets new clients, liaises with medical experts and Counsel and generally assists the personal injury lawyers.

Lily graduated from University of Lincoln in 2020 with LLB law degree. Then completed the LPC and LLM in Professional Legal Practice at the University of Law (Norwich), finished in 2021. She moved from Norwich to Lincoln in August 2021 in order to join Langleys.

Previously Lily worked in GP surgeries as a receptionist and then medical secretary.

She has a particular interest in birthing injuries, brain injuries and surgical errors

Graham Stephen

With over 20 years’ experience in Child Law, Graham joined Langleys in 2006 and now serves the firm as a Partner. He is the Deputy Head of the Private Law division and also leads the child law team.

Highly regarded for his expertise in child law, Graham is a member of the Law Society Children Panel and is recognised by both Chambers and Partners and Legal 500, where the firm’s Child Law division is given the highest ranking.

Describing his key attributes as a lawyer, Graham notes his pragmatism and sensitive approach to the difficult issues involved in Child Law. Well versed in all areas of the law relating to children, Graham’s speciality is representing parents, other family members and children in care proceedings and complex Children Act Proceedings. Fredrick Smith

Following two decades spent in practice at Leeds based firms, Smith joined Steven Leon Solicitors in 2010, bringing with him strong expertise in landlord and tenant transactions, investment sales and purchases and site acquisition and development.

As the Senior Partner, Smith leads the development of the firm, shaping the strategy that underpins everything Steven Leon Solicitors works to achieve. He ensures the highest quality of service is delivered to our clients, that we are innovative and that Steven Leon Solicitors continues to grow; in size, positive reputation and influence within the industry.

He also leads the Commercial Law Division, overseeing the teams providing advice across commercial property, corporate, commercial, commercial litigation and employment matters.

Smith’s own area of expertise is commercial property which he has specialised in for over 25 years. Tim specialises in retail, investment and development work for a wide range of clients he has acted for over many years.

Joe Bells

Joe is a partner and joint Head of the Private Client team in our Lincoln office. Joe has a strong high net worth private client practice with clients based all over the UK and in particular the North West. Joe is a trustee for a number of high value private trusts and has experience advising clients on many types of wealth protection strategies including family investment companies and real estate.

He advises clients on estate planning issues, complex tax planning advice and the implementation of bespoke wills, trusts and other structures, to ensure wealth is passed on appropriately according to a client's particular circumstances.

Specialising in estates and succession planning for 20 years has allowed Joe to develop a deep understanding of a range of solutions that can be implemented to ensure clients’ wishes are fulfilled and he has built a loyal client following.
